John Besh is a chef and a native son dedicated to the culinary riches of southern Louisiana. In his restaurants, entrepreneurial pursuits, and public activities, he preserves and promotes ingredients, techniques, and heritage one mouth-watering dish at a time.

Besh grew up in southern Louisiana and has set the benchmark for fine dining in New Orleans – a town whose identity is bound to its food. His nine acclaimed restaurants (August, Besh Steak, Lüke, Lüke San Antonio, La Provence, American Sector, Soda Shop, Domenica and Borgne) celebrate the bounty and traditions of the region.

John Besh created My Family Table to bring mouth watering dishes from his family to yours. John wanted to show you how to master techniques and create wonderful recipes without the worry of having the right ingredients. Each page of this cookbook  has bright beautiful photographs of delicious food that shows John with his boys while creating each recipe. Before the recipe John tells a story or shows you a technique in cooking the dish.

If dad is someone that enjoys cooking or creating new recipes this book would be the perfect gift for Father’s Day. My husband is not the cook in this family but I am finding this cookbook useful. I have not made anything as of yet but do have some great ideas on what to make. I often struggle what to make for my family so this has been helpful. Check it out day!  You can read about John Besh here.
