I was given the opportunity to review the Transformers Rise of the Dark Spark from Activision for the 3DS.  If you are going on a long trip this summer you may be looking for games for their handheld gadgets in the car. Transformers Rise of the Dark Spark for the 3DS will keep your child entertained for many hours. My children love their 3DS and always looking for fun engaging games. My 7yr loves the Transformers so when I received this game he could not wait to check it out.

Rise of the Dark Spark Incorporates the elements of the New Transformers movie Age of Extinction.  The Dark Spark has over 50 characters from both Cybertron and Earth universes. You can either play as a heroic autobot or the evil decepticons. When playing single player you can switch between sides in the middle of the campaign.

As you move your way through Earth and Cybertron universes to secure the dark spark you can at any time switch between robot and vehicle form. Multiplayer battles have been expanded four-player co-op online escalation mode with new upgradeable defenses and challenges with powerful foes. In addition, the new leveling system allows players to unlock rewards that will aid progression in both modes. Rise of the Dark Spark is a strategy, RPG type game that alternates between two different modes: Strategic Moves and 3D Battle Sequence.

My son had tons of fun playing with this game. He loved being able to switch between vehicle and robot effortlessly. He loves action games so this was one he highly enjoyed.  Another aspect of the game that he loved was being able to choose heroic or evil. Now that he has played the game he wants to see the movie!
