I love puzzle games so when I had the opportunity to review Legends of Oz Dorothy’s Return for the 3DS I had to give it a whirl. I play some puzzle games on Facebook but sometimes I rather just kick back and play a game off the computer. I also love the fact that I can take the DS with me and the kids on the go and have it at my fingertips when I am in the mood to play. My kids take their Ds with them especially when we go on longer car rides as it provides them with hours of entertainment. With that said come take a look at Legends of Oz Dorothy’s Return.
GameMill’s Legends of Oz Dorothy’s Return is a companion to Summertime Entertainment’s-animated musical film of the same name. If you enjoy the movie you will enjoy seeing all your favorite Wizard of Oz characters like Dorothy, Lion, Scarecrow and Tin Man in this game.
Spanning thirty levels across five of Oz’s unique realms, Legends of Oz is a combo-stacking, tile-matching puzzle game. Tiles earn experience the more they are used and combining leveled=up tiles with consumable power-ups is critical to clearing the zones. Winning boss battles and securing legendary scores. Filled with charming characters and unlockable artwork from the movie, the game is accessible enough for younger gamers to complete, but hitting a three-emerald high score across the board will be a challenge for all ages.
I am enjoying this game immensely. I do not usually have much time to immerse myself into a video game for any amount of time but I have been able to find some time for myself and enjoy it. I love the boss battles and have had some challenges trying to combine tiles before my moves run out. I always loved the Wizard of Oz so when I learned there was a game I got real excited to try it. As you move higher it is more challenging but a game is no fun if there is no challenge involved. If you love puzzle games like me then check it out!
