Holiday Gift Guide 2014
Once in a while I enjoy eating cookies. I am not a huge cookie lover, but if I do eat cookies I rather eat them out of the oven and not store bought cookies. Something about a hot cookie out of the oven makes my mouth water. I had the opportunity to review Jen and Joe’s cookie dough. These are not your typical cookie dough cookies, they are in fact very unique and different than any other cookie I have ever had.
When I first took the cookie dough out of the box I noticed it had what I think is sugar coated on the cookie dough. I never seen cookie dough coated with sugar on it before. I was very skeptical how these would turn out but I could not wait to try them. I was sent the Chocolate Chunk and Lemon Drop. I love the flavor of lemon cookies and how can you go wrong with chocolate chunk cookies?
Jen & Joe’s cookie dough cookies are frozen into individual servings to make it easy for you to put from box to oven and have great cookies that are ready to bake each and every time. In addition, they are made with real eggs and butter. No artificial colors, flavors, additives, or preservatives.
There is a variety of flavors to enjoy such as:
Chocolate Chunk is an improvement on the classic chocolate chip. Extra brown sugar for a deeper, richer flavor. Lots of chocolate chunks for chocolate in every bite. A dusting of sugar for a light crunch. And, of course, only real eggs and butter.
Snickerdoodle is based on Grandma’s old-time recipe. The intoxicating scent of warm cinnamon. An old-fashioned tang. A dusting of sugar for a light crunch. And, of course, only real eggs and butter.
Oatmeal Toffee is based on Jen’s secret family recipe. Chewy, whole rolled oats. Crisped rice. Brittle, melted toffee. And, of course, only real eggs and butter.
Lemon Drop is a bright burst of fruity citrus in a smooth dough. A dusting of sugar for a light crunch. And, of course, only real eggs and butter.
Chocolate Spice is one of our favorite inventions. A rich chocolate cookie. A dusting of our secret sugar-spice blend for a light crunch. And, of course, only real eggs and butter.
White Chocolate Wasabi? Why not? Sweet, creamy white chocolate balanced by the gentle heat of wasabi. Perfect with a cup of green tea—or a glass of sake. And, of course, only real eggs and butter.
The chocolate chunk cookies are loaded with great flavor. The light dusting of sugar adds a slight crunch and gives it a sweet touch. I would have liked to see more chocolate chips in the cookies but it was tasty and I really liked the flavor. My kids enjoyed them too!
I found the Lemon Drop cookies to have a nice balance between tart and sweet. The taste of the lemon was refreshing and the dusting of sugar gave it a nice crunch. This was my favorite out of the two I have tried.
These cookies would make a great gift to give to a friend or relative for the holidays. Check out all their cookies on their website.
