Going on holiday is an awfully exciting affair, but there’s a whole lot to think about before you jet off. There’s insurance, toiletries, and of course, the outfits you plan on taking with you. I like to look and feel my best on holiday, so I won’t go anywhere without the following 8 items in my possession:
A sundress is perfect for staying cool when the sun is hot, and I love the way you can just throw them on over a bikini or costume. They’re great for exploring anywhere you might end up, and with the right style you can make yourself look much thinner. I like to go for styles that cinch at the waist to give me an hourglass shape.
Gladiator sandals give an edgy vibe to a holiday look. There are multiple styles you can opt for, so it just depends on what you’re comfortable with. You can get sandals up to your knees, those that are just strappy up to the ankle, and even gladiator sandals that could pass as a flip flop. Try them and I bet you’ll love them!
A Wide Brim Hat
A wide brim hat looks very trendy, but protects you from the sun at the same time. If you’re worried about your head and face burning, this sort of hat will protect you. You can also cover up a bad hair day with one of these babies!
If you go on holiday without sunglasses you’re doing it wrong. Sunglasses stop you from squinting at the sun, which stops you from developing premature wrinkles. Not only that, sunglasses protect our eyes from the sun’s dangerous rays. I always like to invest in my sunglasses, and love the range of Karen Walker women’s sunglasses. High quality sunglasses are an investment!
Ripped Denim Shorts
Ripped denim shorts look casual and cool, even when you just pair them with a plain vest top. They add an extra element of interest to an outfit when you can’t be bothered to think about much. Add plenty of layered accessories to finish of this sort of look.
A Skater Skirt
Skater skirts are flattering for all figure types. They can be dressed up or down, and worn with pretty much anything. I love to take at least one of these away with me as I can create multiple outfits!
I love spending time in the pool or sea, but my swimwear must be flattering. I like to read up on Gok Wan’s advice before I go away, so I know that I’m wearing the right kind of thing for my body shape.
A Floaty Blouse
A floaty blouse never makes me sweat, even in the hot sun. I can wear it with pretty much anything, and it looks great if we decide to stop off at a restaurant mid way through exploring. They are so flattering too!
I hope this list helps you to get your holiday items together – good luck!
