Disclosure: As a Busch Gardens Ambassador I received tickets for my family free of charge to visit Busch Gardens.
As a Busch Gardens Ambassador I had the chance to take my family to Busch Gardens for the day. I cannot tell you how exciting it was. I am a big amusement park fan and love riding fast thrill rides. I love the feeling of being scared as the rush is very exciting to me. We were not able to ride every single ride as the park closes at 6 and we did not have the Quick Que to go in front of the line. We will be going in another month, so I will be able to show you those rides when we go next time. We stayed over in a hotel on Friday night in Tampa so that we could get there when they opened.
One of the signs inside while waiting in line to ride. My 7yr was a tad skeptical while waiting in line to ride it. Over and over he was asking if it was fast. I told him yes it is fast but reassured him he would be fine.
Here is my son all strapped in ready to ride it for the first time. I sat with my 8yr for the first ride.
We waited in line for approximately 45 minutes. Once we boarded the Cheetah I could feel my nerves kick in with excitement. The Cheetah Hunt was a really fun ride with lots of twists and turns at high speed. In addition, this is the parks longest thrill ride attraction at 4,400 feet long. The turns were little jerky and there is an upside down loop. The Cheetah is not the smoothest ride, but it is a fun ride that I will enjoy going on again. The kids enjoyed it too. Next stop……. Montu is by far my favorite coaster so far at the park. With a G-force of 3.8, at speeds of 60mph, this inverted coaster takes you on quite an exciting ride. With smooth twists and turns you feel as if you are flying through the turns. Not one jerky turn or movement through this ride from beginning to end. With 7 inversions, and many vertical loops including the Immelmann loop which is when you enter a half loop and then go through a half twist and curve out in the opposite direction in which you came from. Batwing is another element that inverts users twice on the ride. The zero-g roll, where riders experience a feeling of weightlessness gave me the feeling as if I was flying through the track. I cannot wait to go on Montu again!
Let’s explore the life of Pantopia. The centerpiece of this land is the new Falcon’s Fury ride. You can also visit the Scorpion which is a roller coaster with a 60 foot drop and a 360 degree loop or sail on a ship with the Phoenix which is a rocking ship that brings you upside down and around multiple times. In addition, for smaller kids if they do not enjoy these thrill rides they can enjoy the carousel.
The Falcon’s Fury is the tallest freestanding tower in North America standing at 335 feet high up into the sky. You start by slowing going up all the way to the top of the tower and then the seat pivots you at a 90 degree angle face down like you are ready to be face planted into the ground. A few seconds later at 60mph you will go straight down feeling a rush from the speed and power like no other ride. My husband refused to ride it, but my other kids did accept my 8yr and 7 year old. My 8 year old wants to do it next time though! I never felt such a rush in my life as the seats were pivoting forward my butt was off the seat and my back was not touching the back of the seat either. I was terrified!! I loved every second of it and would do it again in a heartbeat.
My husband and 7 year old are conversing while we go on Falcon’s Fury. Check out the video footage he captured.
The Phoenix was our next stop. I can remember as a kid going on something similar at amusement parks when my parents would take us. The pendulum swings around back and forth, then tips upside down several times. When upside down you are upside down for approximately 10 seconds and then it goes around again. Not sure how I feel about this ride. I think if the ride continuously went around in circles and were not held upside down and paused for 10 seconds I would like it a lot better. Our next stop was……
Board the Sheikra the floorless roller coaster that will take you through riveting high speed of 70mph. You will climb 200ft in the air into a 90 degree drop. You will then dive straight down 70mph through a loop and then into an underground tunnel with a big splash that drenches the onlookers at the edge. Tons of kids were standing near Sheikra in their bathing suits to get wet. Every time riders would come down and the jets would spurt the water out the kids would run around laughing. It was amusing to watch them.
This coaster was a lot of fun to ride. My only disappointment was that I wanted it to last longer. I felt it was very quick but wow, what a fun fun coaster to ride! I definitely cannot wait to ride this again.
Take a look at the video of Sheikra in action.
We finished out the night, letting all the kids ride the Congo River Rapids. You will plunge down the river through waterfalls and a mysterious cave. My kids got stuck under the waterfall and came out drenched. I highly recommend waiting till the end to ride this ride or you will be soaked for the whole day. I cannot wait to ride this one next time.
At Busch Gardens if you have small children there is an area with rides for younger kids. Smaller kids can go on Air Grover which is a small coaster that kids and parents can go on together. In addition, there is a train ride that is relaxing with views of many African animals to see along the way. I felt the food was not too bad in price and if you get the souvenir cups you can get free refills all day. We did not get a chance to ride everything but next time we go we will be finishing the park of the rides we did not go on and hit the ones that are our favorites. I hope you enjoyed my Busch Gardens adventure. Do you like amusement park rides? What are your favorite rides? Let me know below! You can enjoy Busch Gardens in Tampa or Williamsburg Virginia.
