Texas is one of the largest southern states in the US. It houses many different cities and places to visit. From cosmopolitan cities to amazing cowboy towns there is always something to see and do in the state of Texas. Amongst many things, Texas is the home of NASA and many different museums and fund things to do. Whether you are visiting Texas as a family vacation or for a city break as a couple, I thought I would share with you some of the things you should do in Texas.
Visitas many cities as possible
There are many vibrant and busy cities in Texas including Austin, Houston, Dallas and San Antonio. While it may be difficult to visit everywhere in this large state, it would be recommended to get in as many of the cities as possible. They are all so diverse in their own unique way. You could consider purchasing Shofur bus tickets from Dallas to Houston as one of the options to consider when city hopping. Or get the train or hire a car. However you decide to do it, make sure you see as much as possible to make the most out of your vacation.
Attenda rodeo in Fort Worth
One of the original cowboy cities in Texas Fort Worth still holds regular rodeos which are always worth a visit. You may also want to visit the national cowgirl museum.
Check out some live music in Austin
Austinis well-known for it’s live music scene, so make sure that this is added to your list. You can attend one of the many festivals that take place each year in the park or head to the local bars and cafes to soak up the atmosphere.
Escape to the Big Bend National Park
Withmore than 1200 species of plants and 450 species of birds. Not to mention the 75 plus mammals that all reside in Big Bend National Park this place is one for the nature lovers. It also has a protected piece of desert and can offer views to rival the Grand Canyon.
Befearful in a haunted house in Mineral Wells
Whynot head to the little town of Mineral Wells and head to haunted hill house. This house is 127 years old and has reported high levels of paranormal activity. If you are brave enough, you can even book to stay in it overnight.
Go camping in Fort Stockton
Why not consider visiting Fort Stockton and head out on a camping trip. Make sure you visit the Grey Mule Saloon tasting place which is well known for some great wine collections. There isn’t much to do in this place other than enjoying the great outdoors.
Go sailing in Caddo Lake
Caddo like spans 24500 acres of lakes and wetland on the Texas and Louisiana border. There are some excellent opportunities for sailing and other expeditions to explore this vast area. Or if fishing is more your thing then this lake will not disappoint. It is well renowned to offer fisherman some of the biggest basses you will have seen.
