The Dodge Journey is a crossover that provides so much more than being just a standard SUV. With five different models available for the consumer to select from, all models have the option to provide a front wheel driver or all-wheel drive capability to the owner. The models provide for third row seating for up to seven people with the exception of the SE model. These models are known as the SE, SXT, Crossroad, Crossroad Plus, and R/T providing plenty of choices of price points and features for everyone.
Under the hood of all of the models with the exception of the R/T is a 2.4 liter 16-valve four cylinder engine that produces 173 horsepower that translates into an average fuel efficiency of 19 miles per gallon city and 26 highway mpg. The R/T model utilizes a 3.6 liter Pentastar V6 engine that produces 283 horsepower with a fuel efficiency of seventeen miles per gallon city and twenty-five highway mpg. The transmission is the six speed 62TE automatic transmission for the R/T model and a four speed automatic transmission for the remaining models.
The entertainment system is a UConnect multimedia system with SiriusXM functionality that differentiates slightly between models. All of the models except for the R/T come with a 4.3 inch touchscreen display while the R/T comes with an 8.4 inch touchscreen display. In addition, all of the models come with a six speaker system with the R/T model adding a subwoofer to add deep rich bass to the audio.
Many expected safety features are available on all five of the models. The Crossroad Plus has the ability to add the rear park assist systems, rear view camera, remote start, and security alarm. The security alarm is a standard feature on the Journey R/T model. To find out more about the 2016 Dodge Journey visit a Dodge dealer such as Cory Price’s Lakeland Chrysler, Jeep, and Dodge.
