The fall is always an exciting time of year in the automobile business with the announcements and release of the new years models. This year is no exception with Dodge as they announce the all new 2017 Charger Daytona and Daytona 392 models. There are many features now standard with this edition that were optional packages in years prior.
Diving straight into the changes there has been performance improvements to its already impressive power plant. Three motors are offered boasting a 5.7 and a 6.4-liter 392 and HEMI edition. The HEMI edition includes functional performance aesthetics that were inspired from the SRT Hellcat. This 6.4-liter engine produces an amazing 707 horsepower with 650 lb.-ft of torque that provides a top speed of 204 mph. With street tires, this model clocked an 11.0 second quarter mile and can reach 0 – 60 with-in the three second range. Without a doubt, the 2017 Dodge Charter Daytona 392 is the worlds fastest sedan.
The naturally aspirated 6.4-liter engine produces an astounding 485 horsepower with 475 lb.-ft of torque. This is complements of the SRT Performance Pages that also include six-piston Brembo brakes. In addition, 20 x 9.5-inch aluminum wheels come standard with this package. These brake package comes on both the Charger SRT and Daytona 392 models featuring front-brakes with 390-mm two-piece rotors. This will assist with minimizing heat while increasing the longevity of the brake system.
All of the SRT models feature adaptive damping suspension with sports, track, and auto settings. In addition, these drive modes allow the driver to change their driving experience modifying the transmission shift speeds, steering, traction, and paddle shifters. The drivers experience is also amplified with the fourth generation of Uconnect entertainment system. This system features a 8.4-inch touchscreen display with navigation allowing for multi-touch and swipe capabilities.
