Ford has announced some amazing entertainment packages that are available in the 2018 Ford Expedition and the EcoSport. These vehicles are turning more into an entertainment center for the family while on the road than any other vehicle on the market. Let us dive right into the new advancements that I am excited to share with you.
The first is going to be available in the Expedition in the form of a Wi-Fi hotspot that will support up to ten devices simultaneously. This will also reach out fifty feet from the vehicle, but be accessible to only those who you wish to connect. Also, there are more places to put your mobile devices and more ports for your passengers to charge them.
While a hotspot is a cool feature, we all knew it was a matter of time before that was going to be in vehicles. What really blew my socks off is the new entertainment system available in both the Expedition and EcoSport that will allow you to stream live TV and Cable programs. This will use an app called SlingPlayer connected to your SlingBox at your house that streams your home service into your vehicle. So if you are out on a long road trip, you won’t miss the new episode of Chicago Med!
There are two monitors that are available in the Expedition each with their own headset for privacy. From my understanding, it is possible for each of these two monitors to act independently of each other allowing for the passengers to watch different shows or utilize the DVD system. Of course, if both screens are the same you could utilize the premium sound system to accentuate the show.
