Is It Safe To Take Ligandrol?

Ligandrol (LGD-4033) is a well-known testosterone boosting supplement and selective androgen receptor modulator.  It is popular among athletes and bodybuilders for cutting and bulking.  Research has shown that a 10mg daily dose of this supplement can lead to monthly lean mass gains of 5 to 10 pounds.  Is Ligandrol safe to take?  Athletes and bodybuilders have been using Ligandrol as an alternative to steroids that produces no side effects, but let’s take a closer look.

Although Ligandrol is used for both cutting and bulking, it seems to be used more for bulking.  There are reports of tremendous weight gain from people taking Ligandrol.

Compared to similar products, Ligandrol is relatively strong.  Its anabolic/androgenic ratio is around 10:1.  The ratio of testosterone is 1:1 to put this into perspective.  It is also claimed that Ligandrol is 11 times stronger than Ostarine, one of its fiercest competitors.

How Ligandrol Works

The way that this supplement works is as a selective androgen receptor modulator (SARM).  What that means it that is has a strong affinity to bond with androgen receptors.  In terms of selective, it means that it just binds to androgen receptors within the muscles, and not in the bones or other parts of the body where there are androgen receptors.

In addition to its use as a performance enhancing supplement, there are other legitimate medical uses for Ligandrol.  Originally the LGD-4033 drug was developed for treating muscle waste conditions such as muscular dystrophy.  Those conditions have been linked with such diseases and aging, illness and cancer.

What You Can Expect From Taking Ligandrol

Individuals have reported 1 to 1.5 pound lean mass gains per week while taking Ligandrol.  Those types of gains occur while being on a high protein diet and consuming slightly over maintenance calories.

There Are Some Claims That These Gains Are Steroid-Like

Thee is some controversy surrounding Ligandrol since the weight gains may just be the result of glyocen super condensation.  What that means is that Ligandrol’s steroid-like properties may tell your body to store a higher than usual amount of water and carbs.

After you stop taking Ligandrol and cycle off, you may lose some of the weight that you have gain.  Those losses may be the result of your muscles dropping glycogen.

The most commonly used dosages of Ligandrol is 5 to 10 mg per day.  Some users recommend that you increase your dosage after 3 to 4 weeks by 1 to 2 mg.  In addition, every 6 to 12 weeks it is recommended that you cycle off of Ligandrol.

Side Effects of Ligandrol

Our main question here is Ligandrol safe to take?  Fortunately, Ligandrol so far hasn’t been associated with any serious side effects.  However, more research is always welcome.

For example, there are some studies that show that Ligandrol may heavily lower and suppress free testosterone levels and also lower and suppress the levels of sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG).

Fortunately, after you take Ligandrol it takes just 1 to 3 weeks before your testosterone levels return to normal.  The reason why it only takes a short time to get back to normal is due to the fact that Ligandrol doesn’t affect FSH or LH.

In addition, there have been no reports so far of estrogenic system changes after taking Ligandrol.  However, some users still prefer taking an aromatase inhibitor.  It is recommended that you undergo Post Cycle Therapy treatment.  However, it isn’t absolutely required since you aren’t affected enough by Ligandrol to incur unwanted side effects or experience libido problems.

Ligandrol has also not been associated with any liver toxicity, so when you are taking this supplement there is no indication that you will be causing any long-term damage to any of your body’s organ.

Ligandrol is a legal supplements that works in similar ways to steroids without the dangerous side effects.  It does appear to be an effective supplement that can provide your bulking routine with a significant routine.  So far the results are promising that yes it is safe to take Ligandrol.
