I Dream Of These Luxury Home Features, Do You?

Do you ever think about renovating your home? Of course, you do, but you probably keep things realistic. You might have a set budget of a few thousand, and this means that rather than making elaborate changes, you focus on painting the walls or replacing the accessories. If you have the time and the money, you might think about renovating a room in your home like the kitchen or the bathroom. But even then, you’re probably not going to let your imagination run wild and you should!

It’s okay to dream once in awhile and think about some of the luxury home features that you could add to your property. First, there’s nothing wrong with a little daydreaming every now and then because even if you can’t afford it now, you might be able to in the future. And second, you might discover that some of the features you’d love aren’t as out of reach as you think. The prices might be far more manageable. So, let’s look at the list of the most sought after home features, think about costs and whether you could feasibly add them to your home.

Backyard Pool

Who wouldn’t love a pool in their backyard? It could be a great place to relax, chill and enjoy the hot summer weather. It’s a particularly attractive possibility for anyone who lives in an area with a warm climate like Florida. Not only that, but it’s also a great place for kids and pets. Kids love splashing around in a pool and dogs love taking a dip when the weather gets too hot for them.

But what about cost? Well, cost can be more manageable than you think. You can build a pool for around 10K. That’s probably a lot less expensive than your last car or some of the other personal purchases such as a family holiday. But the pool is better than these purchases because it won’t depreciate in value and it will give you years of enjoyment. It could even make your home more valuable which is fantastic. If you’re interested in this possibility, you should speak to a fiberglass pool manufacturer about a design that works for your garden. Then, in just a few months, you could have a pool to appreciate in your garden.

The only thing you have think about is the maintenance cost and issues such as cleaning. That can be at least a few hundred a month. But if you can afford that, there’s no reason not to look into purchasing a pool this year.

Walk-in Wardrobe

We’ve all seen them in the Hollywood movies. How glamorous is it to walk into your wardrobe and wander through your collection of fashion. Pick from shelves of shoes all neatly laid out. Or, select a dress from a rack that twirls around on a mechanism in your wardrobe. It sounds like a dream come true, but it doesn’t have to stay in your dreams. It just depends on what you’re willing to give up. The truth is that it’s fairly easy to create a walk in wardrobe.

All you need to do is build out into your room, creating an artificial wall. Then, you can fill it with hangers, rails, shelves, add a light source and hey presto, you have yourself a walk in wardrobe. You can probably complete all that work for a few hundred with absolutely no maintenance needed. Although, you might need to replace the light every now and then. Once you have your walk in wardrobe, you can fill it with absolutely anything from a chair to try on shoes or even a dressing room. Go wild with the ideas here and let your dream of a proper walk-in wardrobe come true. Remember, all it really is is a room full of clothes that are all nicely laid out. The only downside is that you’ll have to give up a little space in your bedroom. You can, of course, build out but this is more challenging and will always be more expensive.

Steam Room

There’s two options if you want a steam room in your home. You can have a dry steam room or a wet one. Dry steam rooms are cool because they don’t require stagnant water. Instead, rocks create the steam by being heated up, and the room is usually wooden. It is possible to build one of these yourself as a DIY job, and you can find tips on how to do this online. You’re probably looking at spending at least a couple hundred on this particular project.

The other option would be a wet steam room. At roughly the same price, you can have one of these installed, but you will require a water tank. If you don’t use this regularly, that stagnant water will start to have a pungent stench. You’ll need to commit to having a steam at least once every two weeks. On the plus side, this will leave you with beautifully clear skin.

Sun Room

Or, how about soaking up the sun in your garden with a stunning, glass sun room. Basically, what you’re talking about here is an extension onto your home. Depending on how large you want it, you could be looking at a cost of anything up to 20K, but won’t it be worth it when you have a beautiful new room to show off to neighbors. It is worth thinking about whether you want the roof to be glass as well. This will be incredibly hot in summer so you can get a sunroom with an opaque roof and glass walls. That way you can still have a gorgeous panoramic view of your garden or the area surrounding your home.

These are just some of the luxury features that you can add to your home. There are much more such as water fountains or even a new floor on your home. The prices do vary, but if you’re smart and find the right developer, you’ll probably find that even the features of your dreams fit into your chosen budget.
