Jeep has announced that their 2018 Jeep Wrangler will be the most advanced and capable sports utility vehicle that has ever been produced. They are boosting an advance on the 4×4 capabilities, an advanced fuel-efficient power train, open-air options and safety features. As well, they boast about their advanced technology available within this new Wrangler.
The new Command-Trac and Rock-Trac 4×4 systems provide an excellent craw ratio of 77.2:1. This is provided by the 4×4 performance gains of the 4.1:1 first gear ratio coupled with a 4.1:1 final drive. This also provides an approach angle of 44 degrees, a breakover angle of 27.8 degrees, and a departure angle of 37 degrees with a ground clearance of 10.9 inches. The water fording capability of this vehicle is up to thirty inches and provides a 3,500-lb. towing capacity.
While the upgraded edition of the 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine is available, it also is joined by a 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V-6 and a brand new 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder. The turbocharged engine has been rated with 270 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft. of torque. The Pentastar 3.6-liter provides for 285 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque and provides engine stop-star (ESS) as a stock option. Finally, the 3.0-liter EcoDiesel provides an impressive 260 horsepower and 442 lb.-ft. of torque with the EES technology provided in the Pentastar V-6.
The interior has been graced with the fourth-generation Uconnect system that provides advanced connectivity technology between your smart phone and the entertainment system. With your choice of 5, 7, or 8.4-inch navigation. This also includes the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto features to directly connect the functionality of your smart phone to your new Wrangler.
