New for 2019 Dodge has decided to provide a Charger SRT Hellcat and R/T Scat Pack with advanced standard features. Also, this edition includes new aesthetic changes that provide a more menacing look and functionality. This maintains its record of being the most powerful sedan in the world.
The power plant comes with a 6.2-liter HEMI V-8 power plant that creates 707 horsepower and 650 lb.-ft. of torque. Being paired with an eight-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission with steering wheel-mounted shift paddles. One of the major stock improvements is a torque reserve which closes a bypass valve to prefill the supercharger while managing fuel flow and spark advanced to balance the engine RPM and torque. This will generate a reserve of torque that is delivered at launch. The second of the advancements is an After-run chiller which will continue to cool the supercharger after the engine is turned off.
Launch assist is the third major upgrade that allows the front brakes to be locked while you perform standing burnouts to warm and clean the rear tires before going down the track. Lastly, the Launch Assist utilizes a wheel speed sensor that watches for wheel hop at launch and will modify the torque within milliseconds to regain torque during the launch.
Aesthetically, there have been several feature changes since the prior year. The most noticeable is a functional and higher performance grille that provides dual inlets to feed the cooler and engine compartment. The instrument panel badging is all new with the options for a Satin Black hood and Brass Monkey 20-inch forged wheels. Also, you can select an Alcantara interior package that is all new for the 2019 edition.
