Sprucing Up Your Vehicle

Sprucing up your vehicle should be at least a yearly task to complete.  This goes way above and beyond the standard vacuuming, washing, and fluid checks and replacements that standard maintenance would ask for.  For those nearly mint condition ten year old vehicles, it is typically a by-year extra cleaning that provides this.

Keeping your vehicle clean is important, but it is also very important to make sure that you deep wet vacuum clean the carpets and seats.  This will help remove the locked in odors that have been lingering in the vehicle for the past six months. It also helps prevent dirt from being so lodged in the fabric or leather that it becomes impossible to remove.

The external of your vehicle is just as important to make sure that it is looking good from an aesthetic point of view.  Make sure all of your lights are working and check for rust under the body of the vehicle.  If you notice rust, it would be best to remove it, or have it removed as soon as possible.  Another thing that typically is a quick easy fix is dull headlamps.  To repair this, you just need to locate a headlight restoration kit and follow the directions.  This will make your lenses look just as they did when they came off the market.

Finally, take special note for dents and for paint fading.  They can lower the value of your vehicle quite dramatically. As a result, noting this and placing it in a folder to repair as soon as possible.   While it may seem like a daunting task to have a vehicle for over twenty years, with the proper “sprucing”, it can be done!
