Fiat is introducing a new feature for the 500 models that is sure to make any enthusiast of the Italian inspired vehicle happy. The 2018 lineup will be comprised of completely with turbo engines powering the Fiat 500s. The only exception to this is the fully electric Fiat 500e, which is providing ratings of 112 miles per gallon equivalent of efficiency with 84 miles of driving. These editions are only available in Oregon and California.
The new Fiat Pop and Lounge will enjoy a new premium braking system and suspension package. It also includes a sports spoiler, a Parkview rear backup camera, and additional exterior upgrades. These updates include 16-inch aluminum wheels, body colored front and rear fascias, side-sill ground effects and a turbo badge adorned on the liftgate.
A 1.4-liter MultiAir turbo engine provides 135 horsepower and 150 lb.-ft. of torque with the single turbocharger and dual intercoolers. The stock editions come with a five-speed manual transmission, but a six-speed automatic version can be purchased as well.
The track edition Abarth will powerplant provides 160 horsepower and 183 lb.-ft. of torque should be enough to give any Fiat fan an excellent driving experience. Wearing 16-inch Hyper black wheels surrounded by Pirelli tires assists the three setting torque transfer system gain traction to the ground when accelerating. A dual-tipped exhaust system not only provides a sporty look but the sound that Abarth’s have been known for.
The 500 Fiat series is available for pre-order at dealers and will be on the lots during the second quarter of 2018.
