Vacation road trips Florida

Soon enough it is going to be spring break and then summer. with those two coming up around the corner it is time to start planning your Florida vacation. Having lived in Florida now for 10 years I got to experience quite a bit of this beautiful state and I want to share with you what I think is some of the great places to go on vacation with your family.

  • Orlando – From Magic Kingdom, Universal Studios to Discovery Cove are one of my favorite places to visit in Florida. These places are not only kid-friendly but even as an adult I still enjoy going. Magic Kingdom is my favorite place as I feel it is magical. I hope it is magical for you too.
  • Sanibel Island– Having been to Sanibel numerous times I have to tell you it is gorgeous. Since the roads are narrow you would probably see Sanibel a lot more if you rode a bike. Take a long bike ride and scour the beautiful nature all around you. there is parks, a walking trail, botanical garden, and a flatwood preserve to bird watch. You may even see a bald eagle and some alligators!
  • Cape Coral – Cape Coral is around the corner from where I live and it is a great place when you have children. Mike Greenwell’s Family Fun Park is great for all ages. You can play miniature golf, swing in the batting cages, race on the go-karts, or just chill out at the sports bar. In addition, in Cape Coral, there is Sun Splash Family Waterpark where you can be lazy on the lazy river or go fast down the water slides. It is a fun day for all.
  • Fort Myers Beach- Known for its sugar-sand and beautiful blue waters, Fort Myers Beach is one place to hit if you are in this area. Feeling adventurous? Rent a jet ski and head out into the beautiful waters. Play minitaure golf at the smugglers cove to try and get a hole in one. If you are wanting to relax and watch a movie on the beach check out the beach theater.

No matter where you decide to go in Florida on your vacation always make sure you have a reliable vehicle when traveling. In my home town of Fort Myers Galeana Kia has great reputable vehicles equipped for travelers.

Planning your Vacation can be made Simple

If you’re planning a vacation, schedules, prices and demands from others can get on top of you. Before you know it, planning a dream holiday has become a constant source of stress. Thankfully, there are ways to eliminate hassle and make vacation planning simple. Here are handy hints to help you organize an incredible trip without any trouble at all.

Documents and papers
Before you even start looking at potential destinations, make sure your party has the relevant travel documents. If you’re planning to go away soon and your passport has expired, you’ll need to apply for a new one without delay. You may need to pay extra for an express service. If you’re flying long-haul, you usually need at least six months left on your passport.

Once you’ve selected a destination, you may also need to think about visa requirements. If you’re traveling to a country which requires a tourist visa, you may be able to apply online. You can find out more about applying for a Canadian visa here.  for example. If you don’t have the relevant paperwork with you when you travel, you may be refused entry. If you have any questions at all, contact your tour operator or search online.

Finding a date that suits everyone
One of the most stressful parts of planning a vacation is finding a date that suits everyone. This can be particularly challenging if you’re traveling in a group. Try and arrange a meeting and get everyone to bring their diaries. This is easier than sending a lengthy stream of emails or text messages. You can also use a timetable app to show when everyone is free at the same time.

Booking flights and accommodation
The best way to get a good deal on flights and accommodation is to book online. You can compare prices in seconds and take advantage of advance booking discounts. If there is a group of you, make sure you enquire about group offers. The Internet is also a really good place to read customer reviews and recommendations. Don’t restrict your search to hotels. It may also be worth considering apartments, villas, or home swaps.

Finishing touches
Once you’ve got your papers, flights, and lodgings sorted, think about the final details. Do you need to pay extra for luggage or arrange a transfer? Do you need to hire a car? Have you booked tickets for events or excursions? Do you need parking at the airport? When you’ve completed your checklist, print off confirmations and start packing. Give yourself plenty of time to get sorted, so that you’re not rushing around at the last minute.

If you’ve volunteered to plan this year’s vacation, you may be feeling a little stressed out. But planning doesn’t have to be hard work. Try and get dates sorted as a priority and make sure everyone has a valid passport. Once you’ve got dates and a destination, check out the FAQ about applying for a visa.  You can then start searching for the best deals on flights and accommodation. When they’re all sorted, turn your attention to car hire, parking, and transfers. Think about what you want to do while you’re there, and reserve places on popular excursions. Finally, sit back, relax, and look forward to an incredible break.
